Sara joined Interel in 2010 and brings with her nearly 15 years of Health Communications experience. Within the Interel Health Team Sara serves as Campaign Manager for the World Kidney Day global campaign and contributes to several client portfolios within the chronic disease field.
Before joining Interel Sara was the Communications Manager of the WHO-endorsed Bone and Joint Decade 2000-2010. In addition, Sara organised the BJD Patient Advocacy Training programme, which gave extensive experience in bringing different stakeholders together to work jointly on a common initiative. Prior to this she worked as the Communications Coordinator of The International Society of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (SICOT).
Sara’s background includes several medical writing and editing assignments with various organisations and companies and she is well versed in communicating and engaging with stakeholders ranging from multinational companies to professional medical associations, research institutes, stakeholder platforms and other health/medical organisations.
Sara is American and speaks fluent English, Dutch and French. She has obtained her Bachelor of Arts, Honours in Communications from the California State University, Northridge, with a concentration European History and Politics.
